I’m Bill Breakey — Christian grandfather, educator, men’s ministry leader, and author of Legacy in Real Time.
For many years, I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside other men in the local church, walking together through seasons of growth, struggle, prayer, and renewal.
Along the way, I’ve also learned that following Jesus in family life is both sacred and surprisingly funny — parenting and grandparenting have a way of humbling us, stretching us, and reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously.
That experience has reinforced my belief that men don’t grow in isolation — we grow in community, through honesty, encouragement, and a shared commitment to follow Christ.
I believe the most important work many men will ever do is not found in their careers, but in the lives of their children and grandchildren — and now, in the lives of their grandchildren as well.
Legacy is not something we leave behind someday — it’s something we build every day through presence, faith, character, and love.

I’m a lifelong educator, special education teacher, husband, father, grandfather, and men’s ministry leader who has spent years walking alongside families and men in the local church.
Through both joy and hardship, in classrooms and in men’s groups, I’ve learned that influence is built through consistency, humility, and faithfulness — not perfection.
Outside the classroom and church, I enjoy running as a personal discipline — including completing several marathons over the years, among them three Boston Marathons — a quiet reminder of the value of patience, consistency, and endurance in everyday life.
More significantly, my wife and I are blessed with four adult children and twelve grandchildren. Being “Podgie” to them has deepened my conviction that legacy is shaped less by big moments and more by faithful presence, listening well, and pointing young hearts toward Christ. It has also given me a steady supply of reminders that God often teaches us through laughter as much as through responsibility — because family life, in all its beauty, is sometimes wonderfully messy and funny.
Legacy in Real Time was born from a simple question:
What kind of spiritual inheritance are we building for the generations who follow us?
My mission is to encourage men to live intentionally, love deeply, and point their families toward Christ.
